The purpose of the job is to plan and carry out experiments in support of the development of new products for the international market to grow and protect the Purge Plugs business. The application of technical understanding of materials science and engineering will be extended to new material compositions and process development. The purpose of the job is also to develop this fundamental understanding and apply material science concepts to improve the performance or value of our products/processes. Your main accountabilities will be as follow:
Leading or supporting new product introduction or potential cost savings projects,
Designing and carrying out experiments to increase fundamental understanding of products and processes.
Reviewing literature and R&D activity in other areas to bring new ideas and evaluates the applicability of those new ideas in the laboratory to develop new technology.
Identifying and implementing improvements in R&D tests, processes, and equipment to yield a safer working environment and better quality R&D results.
Our Requirements:
Master or PhD in Materials or related engineering field (refractories, ceramics)
2-4 years’ materials research or new product/process development experience in related material composition or process field.
Direct experience with refractory products for (steelmaking/ Foundry/ Glass / Industrial Products) applications is also desirable.
Good overall engineering skills are welcomed
Knowledge and practical experience with analytical methods utilized in ceramic material science are required
Knowledge about experimental methodology, handling uncertainty, and experiment planning will be an advantage.
