For the past few weeks, the effects of organizational changes have already been visible at our production plant in Skawina. We are pleased to share news about two important managerial appointments. These changes are aimed at strengthening operational development, raising safety and quality standards, and increasing production efficiency across the entire plant network.

On September 1, 2025, Piotr Sperka assumed the position of Operations Director, Flow Control, EMEA. In his new role, Piotr will be responsible for coordinating operational activities across all flow control facilities in the region,leveraging the experience he gained at the Skawina plant. His priorities will include further improvement of operational processes, enhancing safety and quality, and optimizing costs.

Piotr Sperka has been with Vesuvius since 2007. He previously served as Plant Manager in Charleston and returned to Poland in 2019, initially taking on roles in the Operations Department and later in Marketing and Technology, where he managed products related to slider closures. Since January 2023, he has been leading the Skawina facility and will now continue working in Poland while overseeing operations across the entire EMEA region.

At the same time, we are pleased to announce that Rafał Czapla has taken on the role of Plant Director in Skawina, effective August 18, 2025. Rafał brings extensive experience in managing multiple plants, gained in the OEM and Tier 1 automotive industry.

At Tenneco, as Operations Director for Eastern Europe, he was responsible for overseeing numerous plants. Earlier, he gained experience at Magna and Fiat Group, where he managed plants as well as the purchasing function.

These appointments are not just personnel changes. They send a clear signal that Vesuvius is committed to developing skills, operational excellence, and safety across the EMEA region.

Thanks to the experience of Piotr Sperka and Rafał Czapla, Vesuvius plants are well prepared for upcoming challenges, investments, and growth, while maintaining high-quality standards for customers and a stable working environment for their teams.
