Earth Days 2026 at Vesuvius Poland
2026-05-05From April 20 to 24, we celebrated Earth Days at Vesuvius Poland – a special time that showed environmental responsibility is not a one-off initiative, but a consistent direction in our daily actions. This year’s edition was particularly diverse and, above all, driven by genuine employee engagement.
As part of the initiatives prepared together with our partners, we successfully combined education with practical action. Biosystem – a long-term Vesuvius partner in the field of recycling – organized engaging activities such as a prize wheel, quizzes, and a webinar titled “Zero Waste at Home,” focused on pro-environmental attitudes. Participants not only tested their knowledge but also gained practical tips for everyday life, with eco-friendly bags among the rewards.
Throughout the week, we conducted a collection of e-waste, used batteries, and small electronics. Collecting over 100 kg of waste ensures that it is properly recycled and helps reduce its negative impact on the environment. Additionally, thanks to our cooperation with Biosystem, Vesuvius received as many as 100 shrubs – some were given to employees in exchange for e-waste, while the rest will enhance the green areas around our site. A symbolic planting by managers from all departments took place on April 28.

At the same time, Eko-Mix organized a paper collection initiative, creating a dedicated space where employees dropped off nearly 70 kg of paper for recycling. In return, they received potted plants, reinforcing the ecological spirit of the campaign. Their gamification elements, such as dart games where points could be exchanged for small prizes, also attracted significant interest.
Education and building environmental awareness were key elements of the Earth Days program. Employees could test their knowledge in a quiz on waste segregation and sustainable living, and take part in a webinar focused on the „Zero Waste” concept, offering practical tips for everyday implementation. These efforts were complemented by changes in the canteen menu, which introduced healthier and more sustainable options, showing that everyday food choices also matter for the environment.
Earth Days also created space for creativity and engagement. A highlight was the children’s competition „Second Life of Things – a toy that brings joy”, where the youngest participants created imaginative 3D toys from recyclable materials. This initiative showed how environmental awareness can be nurtured through play from an early age. At the same time, employees contributed their ideas in the „Production Waste Reduction Champions” competition, proposing solutions to reduce production waste, improve process efficiency, and strengthen employee involvement in optimization efforts.

Thanks to the commitment of our employees, the support of the Health & Safety and Environmental Protection team, and cooperation with our partners, we created an event that not only educated but, most importantly, inspired further action toward caring for our planet. Because we believe that even the smallest steps can lead to real change – for us and for future generations.
