Workplace safety begins even before we start our duties – and that awareness helps prevent incidents before they happen. That is why May and June at Vesuvius Poland were dedicated to reinforcing what matters most: our 8 Safety Rules, which help prevent accidents and protect the health and wellbeing of every employee.

As part of the campaign, our HSE team delivered a series of training sessions and workshops for both managers and operational teams. Together, we discussed practical aspects of workplace safety, reviewed everyday situations, and explored ways to identify and eliminate potential hazards even more effectively.

At the heart of the campaign were the eight fundamental rules that apply to everyone at Vesuvius Poland:

1. I always wear mandated Personal Protective Equipment
2. I only operate equipment or vehicles if trained and authorised
3. I do not remove, bypass, or tamper with machine guarding and safety devices
4. I lock, tag, and try before any intervention on a machine
5. I make sure all high-risk activities are covered by a Daily Permit to Work
6. I always ensure my fall protection is secure before working at height
7. Before entering a confined space, I check I will be able to breathe and escape
8. I only perform electrical work if certified and authorised

The campaign extended well beyond the training rooms. Digital information screens, posters, leaflets and other communication materials served as daily reminders that safety is an integral part of the way we work.
